Our son has had 5 dirty diapers in a row, which is good news: we only barely slipped out of the hospital with his high bilirubin levels. Parenting lesson: Sometimes even dirty diapers are cause for celebration.

Heading home with Archer! So here’s the brief story: I was induced Tuesday morning due to some unexpected bleeding. Archer was born Wednesday at 12:30pm, 7lb 14oz, 20.5 inches. After his delivery I experienced a retained placenta and hemorrhaged 2/3 of my blood volume, which led to a visit to the operating room and a night in the ICU hooked up like the bionic woman. We are so thankful to have been at OHSU, where both I and Archer were very well looked after for the last 5 days. It’s been an adventure, but everyone is healthy now, we are headed home to have some more (hopefully less medically related) adventures!

A gorgeous baby boy joined the Corvus family, at 12:30pm on 5/8/13. Rough day, but everyone is alive and well, thanks to Little Bird’s insistence on being born at OHSU. We will be in the hospital a few days, more news tomorrow.

Cutting out the middleman: let the bottle baby do the milking himself!

The garden door has been installed. One gate to go and we’re done!

Last major project for the season: up goes the new barn! This will (hopefully) make our summer/fall goat care significantly less stressful.
