Well, in the theme while I’m in it, another reason: we found an osprey, fishing from the tops of buildings in North Pearl, snatching koi fishlings from the small pool of water at Tanner Springs park.
We actually witnessed this guy make a dive from the 3rd floor roof to try for a small fish swimming in the 2 ft deep water of the pond. He missed, but what amazing skill, just the same!

Portland is awesome… We just discovered what appears to be an impromptu free neighborhood Taiko concert in the Hollywood district. Drummers on the left, audience seated on the opposite corner. Give it up for 41st & Thompson, everybody!

FINALLY loaded photos from the canoe trip we took to Barney Reservoir. We saw an eagle! It was pretty awesome.
We stayed up too late processing several pounds of blueberries into a fee jars of what will hopefully taste like blueberry jam!

The cinnamon roll dough looks pretty funny when I smack it down after the first rise.

An anniversary of sorts… One year since we sat amongst the nerds and geeks of Portland, watching full grown men and women reenact the ancient texts of Star Trek. This time we brought along our own dear set of nerds and geeks, which made it even more fun!

One of the streetwise horses met it’s doom along 23rd this week. Someone kindly gathered the remains…

We ate the first tomato of the year this evening, in proper style, of course. I am loving this deck and it’s expansive gardening space!!! Many thanks to Tea for diligently keeping everything well watered while I work my tail off this summer, without her these would have shriveled long ago.

Talina’s friend and former roommate got married and the reception was in the DAR hall up the street from where we used to live on Cap Hill. What fun to be inside finally after years of passing by the parties!
