What We Leave Behind

What We Leave Behind

Been engrossed in Time-With-My-Apartment recently, so I haven't been doing much that's interesting, but I finally did load the last of the shots I got before my camera battery died on the way home for the holidays, so here's a shot from the road on my way south last Saturday morning...

Long Way Home

Spent the better part of the afternoon hunting all over the hills for my good friend KJ and her family,as they moved since I saw them last. Meanwhile, the gray skies and constant drizzle make everything seem like home.

Not Fast Enough

I was just at the mall, walking from my car to the first store, and a woman walking toward me caught my attention. She looked a bit like me -- tall, dark jacket (vest?), wearing a hat... she looked a little familiar? Or she was staring at me? As we came near she said "You're Megan, aren't you?", to which I responded, idiotically, "Uh.. yes!".

"Nice to finally meet you", she said, before walking off.

I haven't the first clue who she is, and it all happened so far that my slow brain didn't catch up to turn around and watch her go before she'd turned a corner and was gone.

Hello, anonymous girl? Who are you?? Why do you know my name??

Only When I Look Down

Only When I Look Down

Loaded pictures from Talina's Feast of Light party this evening. This is my favorite one because it doesn't look like my eyes are closed by mistake.

I have worked 26 hours in the last 2 days, I'm off to watch Heroes and get some sleep.

Grr Argh

Recessional

"...once you fully apprehend the vacuity of a life without struggle, you are equipped with a basic means of salvation. Once you know this is true, that the heart of a man, his body and his brain, are forged in a white-hot furnace for the purpose of conflict (the struggle of creation) and that with that conflict removed, the man is a sword cutting daisies, that not privation but luxury is the wolf at the door and the fangs of this wolf are all the little vanities and conceits and laxities that Success is heir to - why, then with this knowledge you are at least in a position of knowing where the danger lies."

-- Tennessee Williams, "The Catastrophe of Success" (1947)

Warm and Cozy

Hachi helped me knit up some cabled wrist warmers today, I stayed indoors and was lazy all day.
Seattle is still recovering from the storm on Thursday, I haven't lost power at all, but my office in Redmond is still closed due to power outages, and my neighbors across the street are still down, 2 days later.

Every Time I Feel The Shift

Made dinner pie last night in a burst of what some might call "kitchen cleaning avoidance". I think I put too much salt in, but it was edible otherwise. The real question is, am I more likely to eat my leftovers now that they are encased in delicious pie crust?
